Webholmes is an Internet file search agent. Search is carried out on the given filename by means of search engines. The aim of the program is simplify search of files in the Internet. It is necessary to notice, that many free-of-charge file search engines, for example, filesearch.ru, allow the user to search for files on FTP servers in the Internet., but their bases can be out-of-date, the server to which the retrieval computer refers, can be unavailable at present to time etc. Webholmes expands the given tools, allowing for each retrieved file to determine, whether it is accessible in a present time, then to measure speed of access to FTP to the server and, thus, to select optimal variant.
