Vk-1 is a self programming video kiosk system based upon Windows Media Player. Vk-1 allows you to organize your video clips in a logical order for playback. Think of it as a card catalog. Each card in the system is the name of a video clip. By properly naming the video clip and placing it in a sub directory you can always find it.

What Can I Play

With Vk-1 you can play a variety of video and music formats. Because the system is based upon the Windows Media Player you can play Mpeg, Avi, Wmf, and Asf Formats. Mpeg(Moving Picture Experts Group) is one of the most common media formats available and is one of the preferred encoding systems on the web today.

What Can I Use It For

The Vk-1 system was orginally based upon design specifications for an Eye Doctor's office. They wanted to be able to have their patients be able to view information on the latest eye glass styles, Lasik surgery and such. while working on this project I thought about my other clients, could they use something like this. The answer was YES! being that most of my clients are in the retail gaming/video industry this became a perfect match. Each year there are a couple of hundred new games to preview and sell. Why not set up a system in the store that can display something about the product. Give the customer a terminal, mouse and some video clips and you can get the customer's mouth watering over the latest and greatest game to hit the shelf or maybe they can find a real cool older game.
