Character assessment - self-development tool

Self Search is a program for enhancing Self knowledge. It presents you with 83 multiple-choice questions about your interests and outlook on life and how you respond in various circumstances. It analyzes and synthesizes your answers to determine to what degree you express each of seven types--these are the seven psychological types (rays) as developed in various books on the subject, most notably the writings of Alice A. Bailey. The program gives a graphic representation of your type--a bar graph showing the relative strength of each of the seven in your character expression. In addition, it gives about four pages of detailed character description together with suggestions for inner growth and Self-improvement. Self Search is a character assessment tool with metaphysical implications, i.e. based on transpersonal psychology. The unregistered version is fully functional on first use. After that, until registered, it becomes feature limited and will generate the graphic results but without the detailed character description.

Self Search was the subject of a doctoral dissertation study: ''Psychological Assessment Of Personality Types Proposed in The Theories of Alice Bailey And Roberto Assagioli, A Dissertation Presented to the Faculty of the California Graduate Institute,'' by Paul F. Dorin, November, 1988. This dissertation includes a reliability and validity study showing significant correlation between the types as measured by Self Search and other tests including: The Study of Values, The Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire, The Personality Research Form, The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and The Human Information Processing Survey.
