Mastering Tools reads uncompressed AIFF files (mono, stereo, 16, 24 or 32 bit) and produces 16 bit stereo AIFF files ready for CD. What's New: Version 4.3 is a major reworking of all the dithers for higher performance: there is a new dither, "Shimmer", designed to get similar high-frequency clarity to the recently announced 'MegaBitMax' dither. Quadratic and Ambient have both been debugged and reworked to become much more generally useful both as dithers and as noise sources for experimentation- Ambient is entirely new, using only the same primitive root residue noise generating technique, and Quadratic has been fixed of a very serious bug- if you never saw the point in it, try it now that it works properly ;) Logic and Highpass make use of a new (and now adjustable) extended FIR noise shaping routine, optimized to a width of 355 samples through long, tedious plotting of performance at different widths, and they all perform exceptionally at not inducing unwanted noise. Ten Nines is still Ten Nines, slightly tweaked to handle the threshold of silence better. The noise shaping bank of direct error feedback taps is reworked as well, so Ten Nines now uses a different tap to get the same delay: instead of being a series of primes, the taps are now a straight list of delays from 1 to 16 samples, to allow more detailed work at higher frequencies.
