ESP Ghostscript is an up-to-date GNU Ghostscript distribution including bug fixes, new drivers, and additional support for CUPS.

ESP Ghostscript is an up-to-date GNU Ghostscript distribution including bug fixes, new drivers, and additional support for CUPS. CUPS used to provide a customized version of GNU Ghostscript 5.50 to support non-PostScript printers. The customized filter, called pstoraster, was used by the sample drivers in CUPS, the GIMP-print CUPS drivers, and the drivers in ESP Print Pro. With the increasing number of Linux distributions shipping, or considering shipping CUPS as their standard printing system, we have had many requests to provide patches to the standard GNU Ghostscript source distribution so that they can ship a single version of Ghostscript. ESP Ghostscript is a customized version of Ghostscript currently based off GNU Ghostscript 7.07. ESP Ghostscript includes an enhanced autoconf-based configuration script, the CUPS raster driver to support CUPS raster printer drivers, and additional patches and drivers from various Linux distributors. What's New: Version 7.07.1: GNU Ghostscript 7.07 Fixes and additional drivers from various sources for GNU Ghostscript. The CUPS "driver" that generates a series of raster images for CUPS printer drivers. The OMNI driver that interfaces with IBM's OMNI print drivers. Nearly all known free printer drivers which have to be compiled into Ghostscript - drivers listed with "Execution style: Ghostscript" on linuxprinting.org. Not included are some obsolete drivers such as hpdj which is replaced by the included pcl3 driver. All known Uniprint configuration files (*.upp) as listed on linuxprinting.org. Patches to add the NOMEDIAATTRS option to Ghostscript, which allows CUPS drivers to use media options separate from Ghostscript. Support files for CUPS.
